Do “I” Really Need A Presence On The Internet To Succeed In Business Today?

In today’s world, almost everyone wants to “check you out ... the first place they go to is the Internet.” So a web site is very important if you plan on starting or growing your business.
Don’t know how to design or put up a web site? Well, don’t feel out of place, most people don’t know how to put one together, let alone what to put on it. First, look at businesses or competition that already have sites. Granted, some of the web sites aren’t very functional or pretty, but they’re there and it’s a good place to get ideas. Learning to build a site takes a lot of time, so if you are inclined that way there are courses at local community colleges and computer stores to help you learn. If you are not technically inclined or just don’t have the time, consider hiring a professional web specialist. Beware though, check out who ever you are considering, ask for references and to see sites they have done ... there are differences. A web designer may know how to make it “pretty” but not know how to do a shopping cart or an IT guy may know how to make it “work” but it won't look good ... make sure whoever you hire has the knowledge or a team to do the entire process of both the design and the technology.
I work with a delightful woman named Sharon Sayler, at www.impressionengineers.com who specializes in helping build web sites that pull people into your business, by making the right impression from the start. I have worked with Sharon for over a year and her fresh ideas and intuitive insight are second to none. She is also an outstanding person to go to if you need to “Brand” yourself or your product. She has an excellent yet simple step-by-step program you can follow to determine what makes you unique and different from your competition.
My suggestion would be to get all your ideas together, along with any pictures you want to include. As well as, a short description of what you or your product does and exactly what you are offering. If you are marketing a service or information product, make sure to include a picture of yourself ... people like to know whom they are dealing with. Be sure and have several ways people can contact you. Besides email, consider a toll-free number, there are many inexpensive toll-free options today.
If you sell a product or service online, you will need a “shopping cart” ... not only do carts allow customers to order, they can track those orders; send out follow up auto responder emails and much more. After trying 3 of them (a very expensive proposition) I highly recommend 1 Shopping Cart, it is the easiest one to use, has lots of features and options and is simple to set up and administer. The part I like best, 1 Shopping Cart has the option of paying month to month, that way you’re not spending hundreds of dollars and the possibility of getting stuck with something that doesn’t work for you ... like I did with another cart system!
A little help in the beginning gets you started on the right track and will definitely make it easier for you to succeed. Maneuvering around the Internet on your own can be a daunting task and is probably responsible for many people never going anywhere with those fabulous ideas they have tucked away in their heads ... sometimes it’s just easier to take all of your ideas to someone like Sharon who can help you get the best presence on the Internet you possibly can. Go for it!

Resources For Turning Your Ideas Into A Business

As I mentioned last time, Kenny and I have built several very successful businesses and we have had the privilege of meeting some very helpful and knowledgeable people who have become both friends and “mentors” over years. Because I know that many of you probably have some wonderful ideas, hobbies, or just plain good stuff that you could turn into a business, we are creating resource sections, which include links to some of my favorite people to work with.

We are very particular about who we will work with and will only recommend people we feel will provide you with the very best possible facts, information, and technology available. We have included the amazing people we have personally had the pleasure of working with who have dramatically expanded our knowledge and our success in business. Many of them will be included in our Women Building Businesses series when we begin our Podcasts.

So, if you have a little thought or idea niggling around in the back of your mind or if you’ve been thinking for years how to go about “getting started” in your own business, please keep an eye on our list of resources to help you get going. Many of them have graciously offered you, our readers and soon to be listeners, some excellent Free information so you can get to know them. Make sure you take advantage of their Free offers to find out if they are right for what you’re looking for.

Remember that many great ideas have turned into very profitable businesses, so don’t wait for someone else to do it. Put that idea to work for you. Today, that is simple to do, right from home, and you will now have access to the resources to help you make it happen. If you’re looking for information we don’t have available yet, just email me at livingbeautifully@sbcglobal.net and we’ll see if we can help you find it.

Until Later …

Introducing Women Living Beautifully, a Blog and Podcast for Women

Hello and Welcome to Women Living Beautifully. My name is Susan Marie and it’s my pleasure to host Women Living Beautifully. I have worked primarily with women throughout my life, and, over and over again, I have come to realize that, on a whole, women are extraordinarily amazing individuals. We have the innate ability to solve a wide variety of problems, often just using common sense. Our knowledge is vast, we learn and retain a great deal of information just from living our every day lives. Although no woman I know has ever had an ordinary life.

We are masters at problem solving, time engineering, nurturing, and fixing the unfixable, all while we are bearing and caring for children, taking care of our loved ones (old and young), working, often taking care of a home and a husband and enjoying ongoing relationships of our own. With everything going on in our fast paced world, we don’t always have the time to check out every new “thing” that comes along and as a result we sometimes miss the very things that could make our lives simpler, easier, rewarding and more fun.

For years I have wanted to find a way to share information with other women. To be able to give them a quick synopsis of different options that were available to them so they could claim back some of that time, we all so easily give away to everyone but ourselves. Ideally it would be a place women could go to for resources when they wanted information and not have to get bogged down in tons of reading or studying before they knew if the information was exactly what they were looking for.

We finally have that opportunity with the concept of Blogs and Podcasts.

As women who are often also, wives, sweethearts, mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, friends and much more, there are times in each of our lives we are faced with situations that we just don’t have the answers to at the tips of our fingers. One of the top goals of WLB is to bring you the information and the resources to find and use that information, that will help ease some of those problems and situations.

Someone once asked me why didn’t I just write a book, but today information changes and updates so quickly that a book would be obsolete before it even reached the publisher. Hence WLB was born and hopefully you will find it refreshing, resourceful and beneficial, in helping you live the life you want as beautifully and easily as possible.

The topics we are planning on covering are diverse. They range from gourmet recipes you can prepare in minutes that will delight your family and friends, to how to have a friendly divorce. From learning how to decorate your home to attract prosperity, to finding the right pet, and getting rid of bad habits. As well as wonderful ways you can quickly restore your energy, learn to relax and even how build a fabulous business. Our aim is to give you resources to find more and more things that will make your life easier, simpler yet more productive.

We invite you to contact us and let us know what you would like information on and what topics would be the most beneficial for you to learn about. Please feel free to email me with your thoughts and suggestions at livingbeautifully@sbcglobal.net
